Mohicans
The Mohicans were the most peaceful tribe living in the states of New York and Vermont. In the early seventeenth century there were supposedly about 4,000 of them. At present, the descendants of the Mohicans live in Connecticut, with a population of only 150 people.
The Sioux or Dakota people roamed mainly through the states of North and South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming, hunting buffalo. The people include several tribes speaking Siouan languages. Now the representatives of the people live in the northern United States and number about 103 thousand people.
Russell Means is an American movie actor, the most famous of the Sioux Nation. The role of Chief Chingachgook is the most famous one he played. Means was actively involved in social activities, and also advocated for Indian rights.
